Fabulous Friday Funnies

Happy Friday Everyone. I hope you all have had a good week! If you are working on the weekends, I hope it goes well for you. I've done my fair share of that as well. The funny today make me think of my dad.
I'm pretty sure he told me this when I was a kid. He had such a great sense of humor. Smart police officer if you asked me. You all have a great Friday! Keep those laughs coming!!

How to Cook Seven Simple Recipes over a Campfire

How to Cook Seven Simple Recipes over a Campfire. This is a pretty good video, and remember that it does say "simple" recipes. Good "to-do" list, lots of preparation information as well.

When I go camping ( I do use a camp stove as well as an open flame depending on what I'm preparing) I do lots of prep at home to save time while camping. I mix up dry pancake batter, then simply add my eggs, milk, and oil when I am ready to cook them. I think the video has some good information and ideas, especially for someone who hasn't done much camping.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Monday

Happy Monday Everyone! I saved the best rustic kitchen for the last post of the month. This kitchen just brings up feelings of comfort, peace, and home when I view it. The stove area is fantastic, set in the alcove which looks like it housed a fireplace. The white ceiling area tends to break up all the wood which is a nice touch.
The area rugs draw in both the ceiling color as well as the wood. Great choice for the rugs. The lighter counter top color also gives the kitchen a lighter feeling than having the dark counter top of last week's kitchen. This kitchen has the Farmhouse sink style that last week's kitchen had. Very nice. There looks to be plenty of room on either side of the island to keep it functional, yet not in the way.  I think I would probably do something different with the lighting, as well as the back splash for the stove.

Fabulous Friday Funnies

Happy Friday Everyone! I'm not much of a wine drinker, but I do have some friends who enjoy their wine. When I saw this, I thought of one of them in particular.
Ah, laughter is great medicine. Hope you all have a great weekend. Try to get out of the kitchen, as warm as the weather is! I'm planning on making meatloaf in the cast iron skillet out on the bar-b-que grill! Have a good one!

Camping Cooking Tips for You

Camping Cooking Tips for You has some good tips. Several of the items most people probably already have. Like cast iron skillets. Love mine! He mentions tinfoil as a way to cook also. I realize a lot of people don't care for it, but I sure use it when camping with cooking!

A great idea about bringing a spice kit along. I know when we first started camping, after we got home I would make a list about items I wanted to take the next time. Not a bad video overall. Let me know your thoughts!

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Monday

Happy Monday Everyone! As I mentioned last week I have found some gorgeous Rustic Kitchens to finish out our month of July Klassy Kitchens.
What a gorgeous kitchen this week! First of all, I love the stove, and the brick back splash just makes it! I also love the different shades of wood in this kitchen. The richer browns and reds work well together. Once again, the wood beams for the ceiling are a great touch. The counter space may be slightly limited, not sure how much we are not being able to view from this picture. The sink works very well with this style of kitchen also. I'm not a big fan of the range hood they have chosen. It does go well with the counter top, but it's not my favorite. All in all, a lovely rustic kitchen. I do like the light as well. Let me know your thoughts.

Fabulous Friday Funnies

Happy Friday Everyone! Hope you have had a good week! I found a cute funny for today. For anyone who's ever owned a pet, I'm sure you can relate to this one some level.
I went into the kitchen after carrying the groceries in, to put them away. On the floor was a bread wrapper without any bread in it, and it looked like it had been sliced open with a knife. My trusty pet was laying beside it with her tail wagging and her paw on the empty carcass of the bread wrapper. I am not sure exactly how quickly she wolfed down that loaf of bread, but it had to have been a record.

Camping Cooking Bacon & Eggs in a Paper Bag

Camping Cooking Bacon & Eggs in a Paper Bag. What an idea! I figured with summer and camping going on, I would post some tricks or hints for camping.
I may have to try this, just to see how it works. It does make sense, but when we go camping we generally have skillets and such, but I have a couple of friends who love to go backpacking alone. This is something that might work great for that. Let me know your thoughts!

Watermelon Has a Diverse History, Can Be Used in Many Ways in the Kitchen--News Wednesday

Watermelon Has a Diverse History, Can Be Used in Many Ways in the Kitchen. When looking through news articles, so many are about the show "The Kitchen" and similar things and are not really news at all. However I found this article and was most certainly intrigued!
This article gives a little history about watermelon as well as some wonderful recipes to make using watermelon. My mom made watermelon rind jam one year, but that was the only time as her recipe was almost too sweet to eat! You can read the article yourself by clicking here.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Happy Krazy Klassy Kitchen Monday folks! I was looking at some kitchens and found some that were titled as "Rustic". This caught my eye and I spent some serious time looking through the different kitchens. I'm not sure how these appeal to you all, but I love them. I'm a country girl and simple works real well for me, however, some of these are really "Klassy!" Let's take a look at the first one.
I can just smell the hot chocolate and see the snow swirling outside of the beautiful kitchen. I love the stone are where the stove is inset. That is marvelous! There seems to be good counter space, and plenty of storage with the island. I like the accents of the wood beams in the ceiling, however, I'm not real fond of the lighting that they have in the kitchen. I would most certainly change that up. Let me know your thoughts.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Good Morning All. I have a lovely pic for today's Klassy Kitchen. I really enjoy the contrast between the white, or perhaps ivory cabinets with the black stove and the black in the clock on the wall. Very nice.
I like that the kitchen seems to have a good amount of storage space. I do like the rounded cabinets on the end as well as those on the island. I would prefer a different flooring then what they have. I would be concerned that this flooring would show dirt and scuffing do to the color of it. I think a nice wood floor would accent it will. I'm not a real fan of the light fixture either. It does not look like there would be enough lighting in the kitchen to see well.  However, all in all, a very nice one.

Italian Cooking Tips & Tricks with Chef Cristian Feher

Ahhh who doesn't love Italian? Here are some great tips for Italian cooking. The second tip is one that I have seen several times, but still a good one! As for the first tip, I have always done what he does, but never realized why my mother in law (Italian) would have me do that.
I cook with fresh garlic now, but didn't for years because the ex-husband didn't like garlic. This is pretty comical considering his mom was Italian. Enjoy the tips and have a great day!

5 Things to Know About Ants in the Kitchen--News Wednesday

5 Things to Know About Ants in the Kitchen is our news article for today. Interestingly enough, I cannot stand ants. Something about them attacking me on my potty chair when I was little, it's all a trauma blur. Considering that this is one of the times of the year that people tend to have to fight ants in their kitchens, I thought the article would be a good read!
One point of this article I was completely not aware of at all! I know that ants can be attracted to sugary things such as the kids' spilled soda or koolaid. Been there, done that! However, I didn't realize that some ants are attracted to grease. If you want to read the article yourself, you can click the link here.

Beware 'Avocado Hand'! 5 Tips For Staying Safe From This Latest Kitchen Scourge--News Wednesday

Beware 'Avocado Hand'! 5 Tips For Staying Safe From This Latest Kitchen Scourge. I cannot count the number of times I have heard this story driving back and forth to work this last few weeks. Apparently the incidents of individuals seriously cutting themselves like this has increased to the point of a name being developed, i.e. 'avocado hand'. That seems rather crazy to me, but I can see it, especially when eating avocados and making guacamole are on the rise.
This is generally not something I have to worry about, because I am one of the strange individuals who does not like avocados. I know, I know, I hear the whispers around me when I say that. That is not to say that I have not made guacamole for the hubby, as he enjoys it greatly, it's just not for me. The cuts from opening an avocado can be severe, even resulting in nerve-damage according to the article. The article explains how you can safely prepare your avocado. Please be careful, no amount of guacamole is worth damaging your hand for life. If you want to read the entire article, you can click here.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Last Monday in May my friends! Summer trips, vacations, bar-b-ques here we come! The kitchen  we are looking at today is listed as a classical kitchen. I suppose I might agree with that. Let's take a look.
I like the contrasting colors of the cabinets and the above the cabinets. That's very nice and dramatic and flows well. The backsplash is not my favorite. I think a tile with some black in it would make that color pop a little better. I also do not care for the towel rack above the stove. I have visions of my children when they started cooking. It looks like a recipe for a fire to me! There seems to be plenty of kitchen cupboards, but once again they are drawers instead of doors. Not a tremendous amount of counter space either, unless there is some not showing in the picture. All in all, not one of my best choices. Let me know your thoughts.

Fabulous Friday Funnies

Happy Last Friday of May! Wow, where does the time go? Our family always had pets, and my children grew up with pets as well. This particular funny is pretty good. Our dogs always got scraps.
LOL, stinking health department! Too funny! Everyone have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend! See you back here on Monday!

33 Kitchen Tricks to Save You Time & Hassle

33 Kitchen Tricks to Save You Time & Hassle. Interesting indeed. This is a little longer than some of the videos, but it does have some interesting "tricks" that I had not seen before. Like number 1? I could have used this when one of my children took my tenderizer!! Wow. Some of the items listed, you may have seen before, but it is certainly worth a view.

Take a look and see what you think. Our ever popular egg yolk with the bottle is in this one as well, but some very cool ones that I had not seen before are in here as well. Let me know your thoughts!

How-To Guide On Stocking First Kitchen--News Wednesday

How-To Guide on Stocking First Kitchen is the article we will look at today. It does seem to be the time of year when our young adult children are graduating and moving off to college, or perhaps starting out their new life together with their new spouse, certainly a time of change. This article has some great insight and wisdom for someone who is starting their "first kitchen".
What is very nice about this article is that it breaks things down by categories.  It also suggests checking out yard sales, or thrift stores for some of the items, such as the cookware. I remember when I got married at 17 and the people I worked with brought in items for me. It was marvelous. One was a heavy duty laundry basket that they have filled with several of these items on the list, seasonings, kitchen utensils, and Goodman's Vanilla. The vanilla was brought in by a co-worker who's last name was Goodman. Nice play on that one! If you would like to read the article yourself, just click here.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Hello all, wow, time is really flying. We are getting close to the end of May! I have an interesting kitchen for you to look over today.
I do love the oak cabinets in this kitchen. The lighting is excellent as well. Nice clean lines and lots of light. The floor covering is a little light in color for my taste. I would prefer a either the same color or a slightly darker color than the cabinets for the flooring.  This kitchen does not look like it has much storage space unless there is a pantry where we cannot see it?  I'm also not sure that I am a fan of drawers instead of cabinets doors. I believe using drawers can truly limit some of your space for items in your kitchen. Also, there is not a lot of counter space, even with the island. I would really like to see more counter space. Let me know your thoughts.

Fabulous Friday Funnies

Hello all! It's Friday! Yay. Here is today's funny. Not really a funny but more of a code to live by I believe.
I used to decorate cakes for a living. I can remember my father asking me why I wouldn't let my youngest have the left over icing. I told him it was Crisco, butter, and powdered sugar, and that child didn't need anymore sugar. Good times. Have a blessed Friday and be safe out there.

6 Easy Kitchen Cleaning Hacks

6 Easy Kitchen Cleaning Hacks. I am always trying to find new tips or hacks that I haven't seen or posted before. This find had two hacks, or cleaning tips I had not seen before, which really surprised me. After all, I think we've all seen the scooping up the egg yolk with the water bottle.                          Number one is great. My hubby and I have a shake for breakfast every morning, so this one I can tell you, does work very well! I had not seen tip number 3 or 4. They look pretty interesting. Numbers 5 & 6 I'd seen. I cook with cast iron a lot, so that one I most certainly knew! Let me know your thoughts.

Two Simple Kitchen Cancer Treatments Used Successfully to Beat Cancer--News Wednesday

Two Simple Kitchen Cancer Treatments Used Successfully to Beat Cancer is our news article this Wednesday. Disclaimer: This article is not an attempt to diagnose, prescribe, or give medical advice. It is simply sharing interesting true stories for educational purposes.  And what stories they are! This was absolutely fascinating. Like many people cancer has taken several of my family members, young and old. Two of my father's 3 siblings, both of my mother's siblings, a first cousin at age 15, and the list goes on. Perhaps that is why this article caught my eye.
This is a fascinating read, and slightly disturbing at the same time. Not disturbing in the sense that these two individuals cured their cancer with items from our kitchens, EVERY DAY ITEMS, but that our medical system does not focus on natural cures for cancer. If you would like to read the article yourself, you can click the link here.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Hi all, I've been searching for some interesting kitchens, not necessarily ones I love everything about, but ones that have some interesting features that I like. This week, I am listing a modern kitchen (or so they tell me).
Let's take a look at this kitchen. First of all, I sooo love the gray cabinets. They are absolutely gorgeous and go nicely with the wood flooring as well. I like the lighting and the space around the island. It looks like the area on the one wall is not for prep work, simply to sit at perhaps? The color of the wood on the island, I do not care for. I'm not sure why they did not continue with the gray. To me the green color just looks completely out of place, but that's just view. I also feel like the sink wall is pretty bare, Perhaps that is the "modern" aspect. Let me know your thoughts!

Goodbye stainless, hello matte: A new trend in kitchen appliances--News Wednesday

Many of us have lived through several "trends" for our kitchens. Back in the 70's colors were harvest gold, avocado, sunflower, and brown. Stainless steel has been the most recent trend and has been around awhile. This article is describing a new trend in kitchen appliances.
Anyone who owns stainless steel appliances knows how difficult they can be to keep clean. Thbis new trend is having a matte finish on the appliances. Many are done in bold bright colors, such as reds or blues. If you would like to read the entire article, you can click here.

Krazy Klassic Kitchen Mondays

Good Morning All! Happy Monday to you! So this is the kitchen I've found for this week.
I do like this galley design, which most of the time I do not care for. I love the dark colored wood, however, I do not really care for the light cabinets with the dark. I might have opted for the end wall to be the light wood color instead of a few cabinet doors. It throws me off looking at it. I do like the stools with the very nice clean lines. There seems to be plenty of counter space and it is well lit. Let me know your thoughts!

6 Fun Cooking Tricks

6 Fun Cooking Tricks. This was a fun one to find! Even though I'd seen number 3 several times.  I really liked number 5, I believe the grandchildren will really enjoy that one!  Of course they would enjoy number 1 as well!
Not sure that I would mess with number 6. It's cute, but not a big fan of that one. My favorite was number 2. Yummy!!! Let me know what you think! Have fun!!

19 Kitchen Appliances That Are a Waste of Your Money--News Wednesday

19 Kitchen Appliances That Are a Waste of Your Money. The title of this article really intrigued me. I will admit I love technology and gadgets as much (perhaps more) than the next person. However, as I read, I realized I was nodding my head in agreement with the author.

I have number 8, 11, & 12 and won't part with them. However, some of the other items I've had and gotten rid of because I did not use them. Oh, I do have number 3, but only because it was a wedding gift. It hardly ever gets used because I use my Ninja Blender. If you would like to read the entire article yourself, you can find it here.

I knew number 2. That hack is all over the internet, so it was no surprise. Let me know which one was your favorite!!

Minimalist Kitchen Design Idea-Solution for Small Space--News Wednesday

Minimalist Kitchen Design Idea-Solution for Small Space is the news article for this Wednesday. With a large population living in apartments, this article provides some great ideas.
While this article does not offer much in the manner of reading, it does have some great pictures for those who are looking to change up, or update the small kitchen to save space. Honestly, what little writing is in this article has plenty of mistakes; such as spelling errors. However, the main point is to see the various types of kitchen which can provide style, design, and practicality to the small kitchen. If you would like to view the entire article, you can click here.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Hello All! I found an interesting kitchen for us to look at today. Still deciding whether or not it's a favorite for me. I realize it's a smaller kitchen, but I find the remodel of it very well done!
First of all, by now you all know I love wood kitchen floors, and this one is exceptional in my opinion. I do like the counter tops as well. I'm not sure that I care for the color of the cabinets. I think I would have went a shade or two lighter than what they have done. With a smaller kitchen, when islands are not really an optional idea, using the counter area with chairs on the other side works perfectly. I find this a nice warm inviting kitchen. Other than the color of cabinets, I think it works well. Thoughts?

Five Kitchen Trends That Can Backfire--News Wednesday

Five Kitchen Trends That Can Backfire--this title caught my eye quickly! I really enjoyed reading it as some of the trends I have wondered about as well. There was not a cover picture for this article, so after reading it, I thought this picture would do well.

The article discusses how large open plan kitchens can be marvelous, but can also backfire due to possible organizational challenges. Having lower drawers instead of cabinets, open shelving, movable pantry shelves, and ceiling height cabinets are all discussed in this article. If you are interested in reading the article yourself, you can click here to read it.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Hello All! I found a picture of a kitchen with a huge island in it. It seems like it is more the size of having a kitchen table in the middle of the kitchen. It is breathtaking however. Just beautiful.
The counter top looks to be a gorgeous marble. The angled design in the wood flooring is a nice touch. The island seems to have a sink and lots of storage area for the kitchen, as well as some chairs for seating. The kitchen it's self does not seem to have a lot of counter space, other than the island. The ceiling is an interesting pattern, but I'm not a fan of the light hanging over the island. I would like to be able to see what is on the other wall, but we cannot in this picture. In my opinion, the island is really over sized.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Hello All! In looking over pictures of kitchen this week, I found a few that were pretty interesting. This one has some interesting points, but also a couple of areas, I'm not real sure about?
The kitchen seems to have a nice open airy feel to it. I like that they have seating at the island as well. I'm not real thrilled with the beams above, as that seems like a area dust would gather. I'm not sure around the area next to the refrigerator either. It looks like a book open on a stand, which would be great for recipes, but I would want it over by the sink or stove? I like the clean lines of the cabinets, and the wood floor as well.

Fabulous Friday Funnies

Here is the funny winner for this week! It just cracked me up! My husband said I probably should not post it, but come on. It is funny!
And, just so you know, I'm the one asking if the bread is gluten-free since I've had to change to that in the last year. Have a great Friday. Be safe!

Six Top Kitchen Tricks

Here are some more kitchen tricks from Gordon Ramsay.
Some of these tips I've heard before.  Some of them I use every time I cook. Number 5 I had never heard before. I had not heard number 6 either. I will most certainly be paying attention to both of those tips! The tip about keeping a clean up bowl handy, is pretty simple, I cannot believe that most people do not know that? I move the kitchen short trash can next to me when doing prep work for this very reason. Easy clean up!

10 Hilarious Kitchen Fails That'll Tell You What Not To Do While Cooking--News Wednesday

10 Hilarious Kitchen Fails That'll Tell You What Not To Do While Cooking. Read this title and it had me. I just had to post this for you all. It sure made me shake my head while I was reading it. Wow!

I must say I don't think that I've had any of these things occur? Well, that's not true, I did have number 8 happen, but it was not a squash. And while clean up was a mess, it was all that had to be done, I did not have to go out and purchase a new microwave like I'm sure they had to do with number 3. Wow!  I'm thinking on number 5 it is hotdogs not carrots, but I could be wrong?  Number 9 has got to be the scariest! I cannot even imagine. Let me know your thoughts!

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Check out this great Kitchen that I have found for this week.  I love the flooring and the back splash.
The back splash and the counter tops seem to give the kitchen the right amount of color. The white cabinets are very nice as well. I like that the cabinets have some glass doors to let dishes show. The island is well placed. That is so important. Often times it's either too far away to be useful, or so close you do not feel like you have any room. Plenty of storage in this kitchen. One thing I am not real thrilled with is the area above the cupboards. Perhaps there is lighting there we cannot see. No seating at this island, which I think would be a little more appealing. Let me know your thoughts!

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Hello All! Here is the last Monday Kitchen for the month of March. Wow, where does time go? This is a lovely kitchen, not quite as large as some that I have posted, but very nice all the same.
The wood looks very warm and inviting. The back splash is very nice as well and compliments the counter tops. I do like the contrast of the dark wood of the island to the lighter wood of the cupboards and flooring. It makes for a very nice complimented setting. There doesn't seem to be a tremendous amount of counter space in this kitchen. The Island may have some storage, but probably not much, it's fairly small. I like the windows, but would have curtains of some nature up, since it looks like the neighbors stairwell is right outside. Let me know your thoughts!

Outdoor Kitchen Design Tips

In watching the Video Clip of Outdoor Kitchen Design Tips I was impressed with the thoroughness of what to look and plan for when designing outdoor kitchen space. It also put me in the mood to fire up my grill!
I absolutely loved the idea of having a water source and prep area. That would be great! I've certainly had my fair share of going in and out of the house while grilling, and it's really a pain at times. They have several great tips. I really appreciate the information about storage as well!

Kitchen Gadgets That Practically Make Dinner For You--News Wednesday

Kitchen Gadgets That Practically Make Dinner For You--How could I not click this article and go in and read it? I am one of the many working women in our society. I am also one who has a commute which is a little over 1/2 hour when the stars are aligned and all is right with the world. Getting home a little after 6 p.m. is not when I want to START making dinner, so I am all over this article to see what can help me.
Some of these devices are quite interesting. I'll not opt for the one that helps with Sushi. Not my favorite cuppa tea. However, as much as I use my crockpot, number 19 sounds absolutely amazing! Take a look, let me know what you think. You can read the entire article by clicking here

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Happy Monday to Everyone! Our find for this week is really interesting to me. I am not sure that I have ever seen a kitchen similar to this one. Very lovely! Let's take a look!
I find myself fascinated with this kitchen, at one point I think, wow, way too much black, but then on the other hand, the black seems very clean and classy! I love the stove, not too fond of the back splash area there, nor the range hood, but it's not the worst I've seen. There seems to be a good amount of counter space and the black cabinets work well with the stainless steel appliances. The lighting is nice, I think the light wall coloring helps lighten the room, especially with the black cabinets. Very nice overall. Tell me what you think?

Completely Off-The-Grid Pressure Canning on a Wood Fire--News Wednesday

Holy Cow! This was such an awesome find! I've watched the 11 minute video several times. I'm going to list the video here, and then I will have a link to the article. This is about figuring out how to do pressure canning outside and save heating the house up as well as the propane or electric!
The articles explains the video, or goes along with the video, in more depth actually.  Being someone who cans things, this is pretty impressive. I can certainly see where it would save fuel tremendously! He goes through the steps of how to build the "rocket stove" and how to keep the heat going. Pretty cool, you can read the full article here if you like.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Hello all! I have a lovely kitchen for this week. I would love to move right in to this kitchen! Let's take a peak shall we?
Well, you should all know by now that I love wood floors in the kitchen, and this one is just beautiful! Tons of storage in this kitchen! Perhaps not as much countertop area as I prefer, however, they do have the island for extra counter space. The stainless steel appliances add to the nice clean lines of the kitchen. It gives off a very warm and comforting feel to it. I would probably choose a different color for the wall color. I don't really care for that color, nor the range hood for that matter. The lighting is good as well as natural light from the windows by the sink. All in all, a very lovely find! Let me know your thoughts!

8 Ways to Color Your Kitchen--News Wednesday

8 Ways to Color Your Kitchen. Spring is almost here, in some parts of the country it has felt like spring for quite some time, while in other areas, they are facing some tough storms. This article
provide 8 different ways that you can add some color to your kitchen to help spring come on in! Most of the items suggested are not too painfully expensive. Numbers 5, 6, and 8 are great ideas to add some color. Number 3 is one I've done myself, several times as a matter of fact. However, number 1, is not something I've ever done with the kitchen? The kids room, yes, but not the kitchen. Mind you, I'm not ruling it out, but just saying. So if you want to read the article yourself, you can click here.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Hello all. So sorry I missed last Monday. We've had a bit of run in with the virus bug going around. So glad the household is feeling better! The kitchen for this week is loaded with warmth from wood!
I truly love the wood flooring and the cabinets matching in color. The grey cabinets and trim around the bottom of cabinets makes for nice accents to the kitchen. There also appears to be plenty of counter space, which is a big must for me! One issue might be there doesn't seem to be a lot of light in the kitchen. Perhaps there are windows where we cannot see in this picture, but I'm not sure. I'm not a big fan of having items sit on top of the cabinets. Too much trouble to dust them continually. The wine rack is a nice touch to the cabinet area. Let me know your thoughts!!

Tips & Tricks for Basic Kitchen Setup

This short video has some great tips to help set up your kitchen. Some of the tips I knew, but some I had not really thought about before. I do use a knife block, so if you do, give yourself points for that!
The one problem I have is that I do not have any space to the left of my stove, the refrigerator is there, so that tip won't really work for me. Perhaps I should find a video on kitchen remodeling and show that one to my hubby? Enjoy!

Fire Safety: Kitchen Cooking Tips

If you have ever experienced a kitchen fire, it is certainly a scary thing! This video has some great tips for kitchen fire safety. I remember waking up to my smoke alarm going off, and my 16 year old coming into my bedroom. He said.. the house is full of smoke! What happened was he was trying to cook french fries on the stove in oil. When he finally put a frozen fry in, the house filled with smoke. I asked him how hot he had gotten the oil. His response was, well, I waited for it to boil before I put in the fry. Seriously. Now he is a great cook, but I don't know if he makes french fries on the stove top or not?
Please remember to be careful. Great tips in this video, especially about keeping the lids handy in case a pan fire breaks out. Hopefully my oldest won't be reading my blog.

Beyond the "Pantry": Kitchen Essentials On Display--News Wednesday

Having been subjected to several small kitchens in my years, storage space is almost considered the holy grail of my kitchens. This article has some great photos of other's pantries. When I think of a pantry, I think of food storage, extra supplies, and perhaps kitchen appliances.
The article gives a interesting history of the word "Pantry".  Let me know your thoughts. I have actually even used a spare closet next to a kitchen to serve as a pantry in one of my homes. If you are interested in reading the article yourself you can find it by clicking the link here.

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Hello everyone! Welcome to our Monday kitchen blog. I have found a great kitchen for you this week. Let me know your thoughts on it!
The first thing I noticed in the kitchen was the contrast of the black and the wood cupboards. Very nice. I do love the hutch at the end of the kitchen as well. I feel like unless there is a pantry somewhere, there is not enough storage room for this kitchen either. We cannot see all of the kitchen, so perhaps there is more somewhere. I'm not a fan of the flooring in this kitchen. To me it doesn't go well with the black or the wood, something else would have been a better choice. I also am not a fan of the light over the island. Let me know what you think!

Kitchen Tips-Pressure Cooking Explained

Pressure cookers can be awesome. I do a lot of canning, and to make sure that the food is safe, I have to use a stove top pressure cooker because these types of cookers shown in the video (I have one of these as well) will not reach a high enough pressure to do safe canning at my altitude.
However, I use my pressure cooker like this one to do roasts, pinto beans, it's just amazing how quickly everything cooks and how tender it is. I highly recommend purchasing one if you don't have one. I made ribs in mine this weekend. Holy cow yummy!!

Krazy Klassy Kitchen Mondays

Welcome to our Krazy Klassy Kitchen Monday posts. I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day. The kitchen today was selected due to the "klassy" but simple lines and organization. I absolutely love the table by the window area. Just perfect!

I have seen some kitchens where they would place things on top of the cupboards considering there is plenty of room for that in this kitchen, however, I am glad they didn't. It keeps the lines nice and lovely. The granite counter tops are beautiful! It does look like it might be a little short on storage space, however we cannot see the other side of the kitchen. I'm not a fan of the plate racks, but they do seem to be popular.
